Berret Lake 09-1999

This was our last trip for the summer of '99. Jason and Tanya are in the white Toyota along with their canine companion, Althea. My mutt, Chelsea, and I are in my two tone CJ7. The trip was fun and challenging, especially with my severely worn tires. Bye bye baldies... Hello Super Swampers! We had some light showers the first day as well as a 20 minute full-on downpour which explains the tarps in some of the pictures. My winch became necessary a couple of times (once for me and once for Jason) which was a good thing as far as I'm concerned. If you never get stuck, you aren't trying hard enough! The campground was pretty crowded, but the people there were cool. We camped for one night and the following day we did a little hiking to the nearby lakes before we headed out. The weather the second day was beautifull -- sunny and warm! The ride out was much smoother thanks to the weather, so we were soon back at Wrights lake airing up and prepping for the pavement. Soon we were back home and returned to our normal state of existance as couch potatoes!
